Day 7

A lie in, as the touristy bits had already been done yesterday! Relief for Lynne as she hasn't been sleeping at every opportunity anyway!
Being fooled by the cloudy skies and hotel air conditioning, the newlyweds set out in jeans and t shirts. 30 minutes later, back in the hotel, peeling off the jeans into shorts and vests!
Museum of American History which Lynne agreed to, as she knew it couldn't possibly take long- what American history?!! Did get to see Kermit the Frog and Dorothy’s red slippers, so it was well worth it!
Time to pick up our wheels! After considering the upgrade we were offered to a pimped up convertible, we declined as it wasn't free and nervously walked to see what we were left with instead.
A Dodge Avenger, with leather seats and shiny fittings saw big relief from the pair. Off we head out of DC and after only 1 minor error – attempting to drive up to a Government building – we were on our way to Charlottesville. Great directions meant an easy first trip on the road. American trivia night followed by bison meatloaf and margharitas made Michael and Sage the perfect hosts!
