After rising late, Jack's BBQ was on the menu for lunch. A quick trip downtown and we weren't disappointed - country music was still coming out of the bars and people were still drinking! After doing some touristy shopping, we were shocked to see a motorbike pulling a coffin! 'It's better than a tent - no leaks,' was the comment made by a local! Deciding to stay away from the beer today, we strolled along Broadway and the river before deciding it was time to find a suitable eating place for the evening.
Nashville is weird - all restaurants seem to close at 4 or 5pm. We have decided that this is because all the locals do in the evening is drink!
A quick google search found a famous 'meat and three' restaurant that stayed open until 10 on a Saturday - yippee! However, the drive to the restaurant was the most stressful of the trip so far. Rubbish directions and struggling to find a place to park, Matthew was beeped at three times in as many minutes.
We were not disappointed though - BBQ pork, mashed potatoes and two more long awaited vegetables had Lynne declaring that she loved the South- a comment she never thought she would say!
