Day 1

No free upgrades at the airport, but interestingly Matthew did a green poo before we boarded the flight!
8 hours and nothing interesting to report at all!
We arrive in New York and Matthew is already stressed and flustered about the rules of tipping! We pull up at The Surrey- possibly the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in, to an upgraded room and bottle of champagne for the newlyweds- this is more like it!
The concierge arrives at the room with the cases - Rocky! We love him already. He leaves the room loving Matthew as well- lack of small notes means he left with a 10 dollar tip!
After an afternoon wandering through Central Park and Times Square we return to The Surrey, to partake in a glass of wine on the private rooftop terrace overlooking the city! No expenses spared as the $18 a glass went down quite easily!
Here events took another turn for the better- Our romantic(!) evening was interrupted when Chena appeared sat between the two of us- dared by her giggling friends. The questions then followed, 'Are you English?' and 'You're not doing a honeymoon thing or anything are you?' Ha! After aforementioned Chena securing us some free wine, she then arranged a soiree for us on Saturday night in her Upper West Side apartment! Looking forward to that- our new American BFF- Paris Hilton would be proud!
